It was another lonely day for Devorah. She was walking trough the desert with few ragged clothes trying to search a comrade for herself, a comrade strong enough who could be near her more than some minutes. It happened when Devi still hadn't sealed her powers in a zanpakuto. Walking step after step with tired and lonely look on her face she fell on ground, maybe it was because of her three days of walking in a row or maybe because she was sad. Who knows? Not Devorah for sure. She calmly closed her eyes and started thinking while resting at the same time. After a hour or two motionlessly lying on the ground she attempted to get up again. After few seconds of struggling she was on the move again with already plans what she should do now. Once again after walking for some time she came up to a big rock at least ten times bigger than the girl herself. Her expressionless face and cold eyes glared at the rock and kept doing it without Devi giving any hint of doing something.

After five minutes or so the glaring contest ended with Devi rising her hand. She closed her eyes and started concentrating, trying to wrap some reiatsu around her claws. At that time reiatsu controlling was rather hard for the woman but she had to get better at it so she could at least somewhat hold her automatic power under check. After about ten minutes of motionlessly standing before the rock she started feeling something, power in her hands. Power more destructive than usual. It was exactly the thing young woman had wanted. Still she revealed no smile of anything to insure her success, rather she walked up to the rock and struck it with rather flaccidity body so she wouldn't go destroying the boulder with first punch. Her claws made their markings deep inside the rock, even deeper. Although the first attempt of technique was successful Devi thought that there were still more ways of perfecting the technique. She decided not to bother the boulder anymore, rather she walked away. About fifty meters away from it she stopped and stat down.

As she was sitting on the white sand there she raised her own hand before her eyes. She changed her sitting position a little similar to the one Shinigami did and glared at her hand. Once again she attempted to wrap reiatsu around it so she could perform the technique effortlessly. She had sat in the same position for three hours in a row, wrapping reiatsu around her claws and then simply releasing it. During the time she got a hang on it and was able to perform it effortlessly with only a second. During her meditation she already got another idea with the technque and now she stood up to see if it would work. In second her hand was glowing with ciel reiatsu as she glared to rock. Suddenly she raised her hand and then quickly moved it down similar to cutting, while at the same time releasing the amount of reiatsu wrapped around her claws. The reiatsu traveled trough air in a wide ark and ended up slicing the boulder in half. "Sorry boulder, need you for more." said young woman as she started performing the same technique again this time pointing her hands in the sky. Once again she wrapped reiatsu around her claws and swiped it down, releasing the energy sending a large ciel blast of reiatsu to the sky at a shape of a wide ark.

Although young woman had finally completed her technique she still had expressionless face, the kind of face one after completing her technique wouldn't have. Devi would just have wanted to share the moment with someone but she knew that being pathetic was only for weak who she so envied she walked around the boulder which Devorah had sliced in half earlier. She had already thought about learning another technique. While moving she started gathering some amounts of reiatsu around her legs which at that time were covered with thin layer of white hollow bones. After barely any time of traveling she could see a faint reiatsu around her legs, the kind of reiatsu she needed. She didn't want to turn it into attack but rather a way of increasing her speed. After there was notable amount of reiatsu wrapped around her legs she started running, using her reiatsu to push herself away from the ground so she could increase her speed.

After some time of doing it she got a hang on it, increasing her speed for almost three times. The reiatsu around her legs didn't disappear though which gave young woman another idea. She gave another glare at the boulder again and raised her right leg. She waved it in an ark towards the rock while at the same time releasing rather big amount of her ciel reiatsu again which again sliced the rock. After doing the same thing with her left leg she sensed something. It was something she had never sensed before, young woman sensed hollows nearby her, well it was only logical that they would appear after Devi playing around with her reiatsu like that but this time she could sense them before they even reached there. She decided to retread because she didn't want to kill another bunch of her so called "comrades" but after reaching safe distance of them she sat on ground and started remembering the feeling she had before. Soon she was able to sense almost all the hollows some kilometers away from her. After joining the arrancar army she learned that the technique was called Pesquisa. She had also increased her abilities of using Ola and Zampa Azul.
